Remedial Theraapy/ Massage and Myotherapy
Christine Lucas and
Joanna Nixon-Livy
Myotherapy and Remedial therapy is effective in addressing chronic pain and injuries by balancing muscles and joints, which helps correct posture imbalances and alleviate stress on the body. It investigates the underlying reasons for your dysfunction, focusing on how to fix it and why it occurred, often examining your biomechanics and body patterns to achieve optimal results. Treatment options may include:
- Deep tissue massage - Cupping - Trigger point therapy - Myofascial release - Muscle Energy Technique (a stretching method) - Joint mobilization - Education on body awareness, including exercises, stretches, and technique corrections.

"Correcting posture through spinal integration, for lasting pain removal and rejuvenation."

NST Spinal Integration – is a gentle, non-invasive "soft tissue osteopathy" bodywork technique, designed to restore balance to the spinal column, musculoskeletal and nervous systems. By working conjointly along the spine and throughout the body, NST rapidly activates the body’s innate ability to 'auto-regulate' (self-adjust) and thereby heal.
How does NST work?

NST involves the usage of precise, cross-fibre connective tissue manipulation (PRI-moves) to specific muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. These PRI-moves stimulate the nervous system and create a powerful relaxation response, activating the body's ability to return to its optimal 'blue-print' settings.
NST - a Holistic Approach to Wellbeing:

Importantly, NST prioritizes a SYSTEM before Symptom approach, meaning that regardless of a particular symptom a patient is afflicted by, NST resets the whole system (spinal column, pelvis, cranium, muscles and nerves) as well as focussing on the symptom. Using this 'whole body' integrated approach not only ensures a rapid reduction of the presenting symptom but sustainability of the correction.
Key Features of NST:
-
Gentle Approach
NST does not use forceful manipulations. Instead, it relies on soft tissue techniques that are safe and non-invasive. -
Focus on Integration
The method works to reintegrate the entire body, addressing how the spinal column, pelvis, cranium, musculoskeletal and nervous systems interact and influence overall function. -
Holistic Healing
Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, NST seeks to resolve underlying causes of dysfunction and pain within the SYSTEM. -
Suitable for All Ages
NST is safe and beneficial for everyone — from newborns to the elderly. -
No Contraindications
NST can be safely applied in a wide variety of clinical cases and conditions.
NST applications and outcomes may Include:
-
Fast and effective stress and pain relief from back pain, neck pain, and headaches
-
Improved recovery from sports injuries
-
Effective for all conditions of the nervous system.
-
Excellent for digestive, respiratory, menstrual issues and general fatigue
-
Optimized postural alignment and body integration
-
Deep relaxation and nervous system regulation
-
Increased energy and better health
